Amanda Dishner, LMFT-S

About Amanda Dishner, LMFT-S,

I am a marriage and family therapist specializing in grief and the complex layers of loss that shape our lives. I work with adults and children navigating the death of loved ones, anticipatory grief, caregiving stress, infertility and perinatal loss, and the quiet grief that can accompany life transitions.

I believe that grief is not something to fix, but something to tend to and honor. I help clients understand the emotional, relational, and physical impact of loss while gently supporting them in finding meaning, connection, and resilience in the midst of it. Drawing from attachment-based and systemic perspectives, I pay close attention to how grief affects identities, partnerships, parenting, and family dynamics. Grounded in each client’s unique story, I integrate a variety of methods to increase healing and connection, including art, writing, and Induced After Death Communication (IADC).

Mourning deserves witness and I consider it a privilege to sit with people in their most vulnerable seasons and to help them feel less alone as they learn to carry their grief while life continues to unfold.
