I am passionate about supporting people who are experiencing grief and recovering from trauma. Everyone experiences grief differently; however, my personal experiences with grief and trauma significantly inform my work, allowing me to approach it with empathy and understanding. Over the years, I have learned that utilizing a client’s natural strengths is essential in promoting lasting healing and change. I strive to create a partnership where clients feel seen, understood, and fully supported. In addition to helping clients develop useful coping strategies, I am a trained EMDR therapy practitioner, which enhances my ability to assist in trauma recovery. I also enjoy collaborating with clients to explore profound questions of meaning and spirituality. With master’s degrees in education and counseling, I have had the opportunity to serve as a guest lecturer for the graduate counseling program at Texas State University and provide educational training within the Austin community. With multiple years of experience leading support groups and working with individuals and couples, both in-person and online, my eclectic approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, influenced by my studies in existential, attachment, and narrative therapies.
My specialties encompass grief counseling, including pregnancy loss, infant and child loss, multiple losses, and complex grief/prolonged grief disorder, as well as losses due to suicide or substance abuse, traumatic loss, and trauma recovery. I deeply believe in the strength, wisdom, and resilience of the human spirit, and I hold that post-traumatic growth is not only attainable but a natural capacity that can be nurtured to flourish. It is a great honor to do this meaningful work, and I look forward to connecting with new clients.
