Hi! I’m Molly, a proud Austin native and co-owner of Safe Haven Counseling, where I work as a grief and trauma therapist. My diverse background in grief includes experience with children and families in foster care, supporting crime victims, and consulting on child and adolescent development following traumatic experiences. I currently provide services to clients ages 4 and up.
Losing a loved one is one of the most challenging experiences anyone can face, and grieving is a natural and essential process. Unfortunately, grief is often misunderstood and carries stigma. Having personally navigated the loss of many loved ones, I deeply understand the isolation and challenges that grief presents. My passion lies in supporting others, helping them feel connected and understood. I believe our grief stories can feel like heavy rocks sitting on our chests. They can weigh us down, but when we find a safe person, like a grief and trauma therapist, to share these stories with, we can ask, 'Can you help me carry this load for a bit?' Even for just a moment, we feel a little lighter.
In my practice, I frequently incorporate nervous system work, utilizing techniques such as the Safe and Sound Protocol alongside other somatic tools. I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based practice that aids individuals in processing and healing from traumatic events. Together, we will explore the best methods of support and resources to uplift you during your grieving journey.
I currently accept Aetna, Cigna, United, and Carelon insurance plans. Additionally, I am a Flatwater network provider, aimed at covering counseling costs for those affected by a cancer diagnosis, whether directly or within their community. If my fees seem inaccessible, please reach out, and I’d be happy to discuss a sliding scale rate.
Insurances accepted: United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna.
