Welcome. I’m Susan Hilton and I'm so glad to have you visit my page. You may be considering grief counseling with a specific goal in mind, and I truly honor that. My practice as an LCSW therapist involves partnership and collaboration, believing that the client is the expert while I journey alongside you in the process. With my training and experience, I can provide you with tools, strategies, and healing perspectives tailored to your needs. I don’t subscribe to a 'one size fits all' approach and utilize different modalities when working with clients.
Grief can manifest differently in individuals, showing up as anger, sadness, loneliness, or even self-destructive behavior. Through my experiences, I’ve learned that there is hope. We all want to be seen—no matter who we are or where we are on our journey.
In 2013, my own grief journey began when both my parents were diagnosed with terminal illnesses, which thrust me into the role of full-time caregiver. Ultimately, I found myself a member of a club I hadn’t anticipated—the orphan club. This personal experience has deeply informed my clinical practice. Having been in the shoes of both the helper and the helpee, I truly “get it” from both perspectives. What I know for sure is that there can be significant transformation during the grief journey.
I am licensed in Texas and In California.
